Trump considering dismissal of Fed chairman Jerome Powell

US President Donald Trump and his administration are reportedly considering removing Jerome Powell, Chairman of the Federal Reserve System (Fed), from his post, Kevin Hassett, head of the White House National Economic Council, said, Americandiary24 reports.
Trump recently remarked that if he chose to, he would have the authority to remove Powell from office.
Powell has held the position since February 2018, and was reappointed for a second term in 2022. His current tenure is set to end in May 2026.
