The wealth of billionaires in the world continued to grow last year.
Both the number of billionaires and their wealth increased last year.
In 2024, the number of billionaires increased from 2,565 to 2,769, and their total wealth increased from $13 trillion to $15 trillion. This is the second largest annual increase in the wealth of billionaires.
The wealth of the ten richest people in the world increased by an average of 100 million dollars per day.

According to research, 36 percent of billionaires' wealth is inherited. So every billionaire under the age of 30 inherited his wealth. The largest annual increase in the wealth of billionaires ($5.8 trillion) occurred in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
