Apple (AAPL) has officially introduced the iPhone 16e, a more affordable alternative to the iPhone 16, featuring Apple Intelligence tools.
CEO Tim Cook, who teased the “newest member of the family” on X last week, announced that the iPhone 16e will be available starting February 28, with a starting price of $599. This makes it more budget-friendly than the iPhone 16, priced at $799, as well as the higher-end Pro, Plus, and Pro Max models.

The iPhone 16e comes equipped with Apple Intelligence features, which Cook highlighted as a key driver behind record iPhone upgrades in the company’s fiscal first quarter. It also runs on the same A18 chip found in the iPhone 16.

Morgan Stanley analysts recently projected that Apple could ship 15 million units of this lower-cost iPhone during its 2025 fiscal year. However, their forecast was based on the assumption that the new model would be an update to the iPhone SE line, expected at a slightly lower price point of $499.
