Steve Martin revealed some unintended fallout from “Saturday Night Live’s” 50th anniversary special.

The comedy legend—who delivered the opening monologue for the event—shared a photo on social media Thursday of his Only Murders in the Building co-star and close friend Martin Short exchanging a playful kiss with former SNL cast member Maya Rudolph at the celebration,  Americandiary24 reports.

“Maya had Covid. Marty has Covid. I wonder why?” Martin quipped in the caption. “The SNL 50th Covid curse is real.”

Both Martin, 79, and Short, 74, attended the star-studded SNL50: The Anniversary Special and have been touring together in their Dukes of Funnytown Tour. Short’s illness has forced them to postpone two upcoming shows.

“Unfortunately, we have to reschedule this weekend’s sold-out Durham and Knoxville dates to 10/17 Knoxville and 10/18 Durham,” Martin wrote. “So sorry for the inconvenience. I think we’ll be funnier then, anyway.”

Martin has hosted SNL 16 times—second only to Alec Baldwin—and has been touring with Short since 2015. The duo has also starred together in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building since 2021.
