On Friday, President Donald Trump dismissed Air Force General C.Q. Brown, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and ousted five other admirals and generals in a historic shake-up of U.S. military leadership, Americandiary24 reports.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump announced his intention to nominate former Lieutenant General Dan "Razin" Caine as Brown's successor, marking the first time a retired officer has been tapped for the nation’s highest military post.

The president also plans to replace Admiral Lisa Franchetti, the head of the U.S. Navy and the first woman to lead a military branch, along with the Air Force vice chief of staff, according to the Pentagon. Additionally, Trump is removing the judge advocates general for the Army, Navy, and Air Force—key positions responsible for upholding military justice.
